Chris Sherman
Head Coach

 

Chris Sherman, a Maryland native, enters his first season as the head coach of the Knights men’s lacrosse program.  Sherman rejoined the SA Athletic Staff in the summer of 2010 for his second appointment as the assistant men's lacrosse coach. During his first stint with the program, Sherman helped coach the program to a 12-5 season—the best on record.

Sherman graduated from St. Andrews in May of 2005 with a BA in Politics. While at SAPC for two years, he lettered as a varsity member of the men’s lacrosse team and was a goalie for the Knights. After graduating, Sherman served as the Program Director/ Head Coach for the Snohomish Lacrosse Club in Snohomish, Washington and worked as the Regional Director for WALAX.com in Seattle.

Furthermore, Sherman spent last year working with the Washington Stealth, winners of the National Lacrosse League Championships.

As a collegiate goalie, he played at Limestone as a member of the 2000 NCAA Division II National Championship squad. He spent the next year at Harford Community College before playing his last two seasons at St. Andrews. Sherman lives in the Laurinburg area.


 
 

Rick Cremen
Assistant Coach

 

Rick Cremen, a Maryland native, enters his first season as an Assistant to the Knights Men’s Lacrosse Program after being hired in January of 2012. Cremen joins the Knights after working for the Mad Lax All-Stars in 2010, based out of McLean, VA; serving as an Assistant and Head Coach for several All-Star programs.

Cremen graduated in 2008 from Stevenson University, earning a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. During his two years at Stevenson, he lettered as a varsity member of the men’s lacrosse team and played long stick midfield for the Mustangs. After graduating, Coach Cremen served the game of lacrosse by helping expand the game in England, just south of London, as a Long Distance Officer for the English Lacrosse Program. He introduced the game to youth athletes and played for the Hitchin Sr. Men’s Club Team in Hitchin, England. Upon returning from his months abroad, Cremen coached several youth leagues in the Baltimore area.

Most recently, Coach Cremen has been working with Sports and Speed team on conditioning for young, developing athletes. He is currently seeking his Strength and Conditioning certification along with several other speed training certifications.

As a collegiate defensemen and long stick middie, he played at CCBC Catonsville as a member of the semi-finalist of the 2002 NJCAA national championship squad. In his last two years he played for Stevenson University. Cremen currently resides in Laurinburg, NC.
