THOMASVILE, N.C.—Senior Zach Mryncza (Baltimore, Md.) led the list of nine St. Andrews Presbyterian College players that were named to the 2007 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-CVAC Men’s Lacrosse Teams as the Co-CVAC Player of the Year. Third Year head coach Michael Lawson was also named the CVAC Coach of the Year.

Lawson has led the No. 10 nationally ranked Knights to a 10-4 record heading into this weekend CVAC men’s lacrosse tournament at St. Andrews. SAPC enters the tourney as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 seed Queens University of Charlotte on Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the second semifinal.

The Knights 10 wins on the season has already tied the all-time most wins for St. Andrews lacrosse in the programs NCAA Division II era.

Mryncza was named Co-CVAC Player of the Year with Limestone goalkeeper Marty Ward after leading the Knights in scoring with 42 goals, 36 assists, and 78 points. Mryncza, who was also a First Team All-CVAC selection, currently ranks first nationally in both points and assists per game while ranking in the top-10 nationally in goals/game. Three other Knights were named to the All-CVAC First Team list with Mryncza including senior midfielders Drew Howell (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada) and Dan Hartzell (Lacombe, Alberta, Canada) along with sophomore defender John Osterritter (Arnold, Md.). Hartzell and Howell rank fourth and fifth at St. Andrews in points with 32 and 28 points, respectively. Osterritter, a 2006 All-American, helped lead a Knights defense that was nationally ranked in most defensive categories.

St. Andrews lacrosse had a pair of players that were named to the All-CVAC Second Team. Sophomore attack Cole Howell (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada) ranks second on the team with 41 goals, 27 assists, and 68 points. C. Howell was a CVAC Player of the Week on March 21.
