Zach Mryncza named CVAC lacrosse offensive Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Zach Mryncza of St. Andrews Presbyterian College(8-3 overall, 3-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) men's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week during week six of the 2007 season.

Senior attack Zach Mryncza led the St. Andrews men's lacrosse team to their fifth straight victory on Saturday with a 10-point road performance at Presbyterian College. Mryncza had a hat trick while supplying a game and season high seven assists. One of Mryncza's seven helpers was on the Knights game-winning goal. The Baltimore, Maryland, native tied his season-high with 10 points in the victory over the Blue Hose. Mryncza, who leads SAPC with 32 goals, 33 assists, and 65 points, increased his CVAC-leading assist average to 3.0 assists per game. As of the April 3 NCAA Division II statistics report, Mryncza is also the national leader in assists per game helping St. Andrews to a No. 8 national ranking (currently best in the CVAC).

No. 8 nationally ranked St. Andrews will visit No. 9 ranked CVAC rival Limestone College (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
