THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Nate Hull of St. Andrews Presbyterian College (7-3 overall, 3-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II CVAC men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth week of the 2007 season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Nate Hull came up huge for the St. Andrews Presbyterian College men's lacrosse team making 43 saves in two games as the Knights won two big games this past week. Hull helped SAPC move back into the national top-10 at No. 9 after winning last weeks games, by tying his career-high win streak of four games. The Knights were out shot in both games last week but Hulls impressive .683 save percentage for the two games allowed St. Andrews to take both games convincingly. Hull started the week with a career-high 28 saves, a CVAC season-high on the year, in the Knights 14-8 victory over conference foe Queens on Wednesday. Hull allowed just eight goals on 56 shots. Hull backed up that performance with 15 stops in a 16-12 upset victory over then No. 6 nationally ranked Adelphi on Sunday. For the week, Hull allowed just 20 goals on 100 shots. The Millersville, Md., native has accumulated seven wins in net and a .565 save percentage on the season.
St. Andrews will go for five straight victories when they visit non-conference Presbyterian College (Clinton, S.C.) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
