Cole Howell named CVAC men's lacrosse offensive Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Cole Howell of St. Andrews Presbyterian College(5-3 overall, 2-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) men's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week during week four of the 2007 season.

Sophomore attack-man Cole Howell led the St. Andrews men's lacrosse team to a pair of regional wins this week with a team-high 10 points over that span. Howell kept the Knights perfect in the CVAC with two goals and two assists in a 13-9 victory over Belmont Abbey on Wednesday. Howell was also credited with the game-winning goal against the Crusaders. Howell led the Knights to another victory with a team-high four goals in a 19-9 victory over Wingate University. Howell also added two assists for six points against the Bulldogs while grabbing five groundballs. The St. Albert, Alberta, Canada native has 23 goals and 12 assists for 35 points in eight games for St. Andrews.

St. Andrews will host CVAC rival Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
