POOLER, Ga.—Junior Alfred Kristinsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) led to St. Andrews Presbyterian College men’s golf individuals at the 2007 NCAA Division II Atlantic Southeast Men’s Golf Regional hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
Kristinsson posted rounds of 84, 85, and 83 from the 7,066-yard, par-72 championship tees at Savannah Quarters. Kristinsson’s three-day total of 252 was good for a four-way tie for 25th out of 45 golfers. Kristinsson only carded two birdies of his 54 holes of play but the course played extremely difficult throughout the tournament that included hard winds.
Senior John Kolls (Durham, N.C.) opened up the tournament with an impressive 79 on Monday. Kolls first round 79 was only one of 30 rounds in the 70’s out of 135 scorecards collected over the three days of competition. Kolls fell back to the field with an 86 and 88 in his final two rounds. Kolls 253 total tied him for 29th place.
The 2007 Atlantic Regional concluded the season for the Knights golfers and the squad will next tee it up in competition in early September.
