The Royal Blue & White will compete in a quintet of races throughout the state of North Carolina over a seven week span starting in September under the direction of first year head coach Micheal Coggins.
For the second straight year, St. Andrews will open up its campaign at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by UNC Wilmington. The Friday evening races will take place on September 10 with the Knights being tested against primarily NCAA Division I opposition.
One week later, SAPC will contend in its most local race when the Knights return to the UNC Pembroke Invitational on Saturday, September 18 after a year’s hiatus. St. Andrews has had great success at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton, N.C; with the men’s team winning the title and the women capturing second place in 2008.
After the calendar flips a month, the Knights will return to the Hagan Stone Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 2. The action packed day featuring both high school and collegiate races, will take place at the Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, N.C. Both SAPC teams finished third at Hagan Stone last season.
The Knights will cap the regular season with a pair of Friday afternoon races hosted by league foes to gear up for the 2010 Conference Carolinas Championships, which will also take place on a Friday afternoon.
St. Andrews will participate in the inaugural Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens University of Charlotte on Friday, October 15 before wrapping up regular season competition at the second annual Mount Olive Invitational on Friday, October 22. SAPC claimed both third place awards at Mount Olive last year.
For the second straight year, Queens will host the Conference Carolinas Championships at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C. St. Andrews will be striving for its third league title in the last six year (2005 & 2008 Champs) on Friday, November 5.
The Knights will make a third trip to Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday, November 20 at the 2010 NCAA Southeast Regional. Queens will be hosting the national championship qualifier, ending a string of six straight regional races at Wingate University.
St. Andrews has had recent success at the Southeast Regional, with Knights individuals on both the men’s and women’s squads qualifying for the finals in 2007 & 2008. The 2010 NCAA D-II National Championships will be hosted by Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, December 4.
