HIGH POINT, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s Doug Holt has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's cross country Runner of the Week during week number three in the 2009 season.
Doug Holt was the second fastest NCAA Division II runner at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by UNC Wilmington to lead the St. Andrews Presbyterian College men's cross country team in the squad’s first race of the 2009 season.
The junior from Haddonfield, N.J., posted a personal record (PR) 5k time of 16:01.08 to finish 16th overall out of 56 runners in the strong field that featured runners from D-I institutions including UNC Wilmington, East Carolina University, and Campbell University. Holt's impressive time led the Knights to a fifth place finish out of six teams.
Holt and the St. Andrews men’s & women’s cross country teams will next compete in the Guilford Cross Country Carnival in Greensboro, N.C., on Saturday at The Meadows Cross Country Course.
