Bourke named CVAC men's Runner of the Week October 4, 2006 THOMASVILLE, N.C.—Tim Bourke of St. Andrews Presbyterian College has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) men’s cross country Runner of the Week. Senior co-captain Tim Bourke won the Division II portion of the 23rd Annual Greensboro Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone Park to help No. 2 southeast regionally ranked St. Andrews to a second place finish out of 20 teams. Bourke posted a season-best 8k time of 27:10 to lead a pack of three Knights that finished first, second, and third. Bourke also finished third overall out of 159 NCAA runners. St. Andrews was the top CVAC school and had wins against Division I entrants North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State, and Winston-Salem State. Bourke has finished in the top-10 individually in all three races this year. Bourke joins teammates Pedro Tapia Jr. and Mitch Cooper as CVAC Runners of the Week. The Knights travel to Orlando, Fla., for the Walt Disney Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 7. |
