Eichelberger selected to All-CVAC men's basketball team

MOUNT OLIVE , NC— St. Andrews senior forward Chad Eichelberger (Austell, GA) was named to the 2006 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention list on Thursday for his outstanding play.

Eichelberger averaged 10.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.45 blocks, and 1.05 assists per game in 2005/06. Eichelberger, who led both SAPC and the CVAC in blocked shots, was the Knights third leading scorer. Eichelberger had season-highs of 21 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks. Eichelberger recorded six double-doubles against conference opponents.

The CVAC announced the All-Conference Teams, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Freshmen of the Year award winners at the Honors Banquet during this weekend's CVAC Basketball Conference Championship Tournament. The banquet was held at the host institution, Mount Olive College. The women’s awards were first given out, followed by the men’s awards. Head Coaches from CVAC member institutions nominate and then vote upon the award winners who represent the best of the best for the conference.
