NGU Crusaders Ride by Knights Basketball

Tigerville, SC- Senior Aaron Christian (New Bedford, MA) sunk a three-pointer with 15 seconds left on the clock as St. Andrews men’s basketball tried to catch the Crusaders of North Greenville University this evening in Tigerville, SC. Though they never gave up, the Knights could not find enough chances to close the gap the Crusaders created as SAU fell to 0-3 in Conference Carolinas play with a final score of 103-92.

Senior, forward Ryan Streater (Charlotte, NC) once again led the Knights’ offensive play as he put up the game high of 25 points, followed by NGU sophomore Chris Dean, who earned 22 points. Streater went 3-3 from long distance tonight, tying teammate Chris Sumski’s (Charlotte, NC) three-point total of the night. Sumski added 13 total points for SAU, while Antonio Moffitt (Raleigh, NC) and Christian posted 18 and 15 respectively.

The Knights out-shot the Crusaders at the foul line by18% in today's game, shooting 68% as a team. Demetrius Monroe (High Point, NC) and Sumski each went 100% from the line, followed by Streater and Christian who went 85.7% and 80%.

For their next competition, the Knights will travel to Hartsville, SC, to challenge the Cobras of Coker College. The two squads will meet at center court at 7:30 PM, following the SAU/Coker women’s basketball game that will precede the men’s game.
