In their own words...
"Living on campus is a life experience I have learned so much from. We eat together, watch TV together, study together, and do absolutely nothing together. When I go home for breaks, it’s like I’m leaving my second family!"

Box Score

Laurinburg, NC- Senior Ryan Streater (Charlotte, NC) earned not only the highest points, but also worked for the most rebounds for the Knights this evening as St. Andrews University hosted Barber-Scotia College. After a close game, SAU pulled ahead and maintained the lead to finish the game with a victory for Knights men’s basketball, 94-82.

Streater posted an impressive 21 points this evening; sinking two from behind the arc and five from close range. After driving to the basket, he drew several fouls and earned a 100% record in tonight’s game at the free-throw line as he went 5-5 (FTM-FTA). With nine total rebounds, Streater only missed earning a double-double by one rebound.

Trailing Streater by one point, Chris Sumski (Charlotte, NC) put up 20 points, with only one short range basket. Sumski found the hoop six times from behind the three point line this evening. Antonio Moffitt (Raleigh, NC) earned 17 points for SAU, the majority of which resulted from strong drives to the basket.

Aaron Christian (New Bedford, MA) passed the team’s highest number of assists (5) while also working to score 13 points the Knights(3-5 Overall); while Streater and Moffitt each threw two assists. Under the basket, almost every Knight pulled down a rebound tonight as the squad grabbed 11 offensive and 33 defensive rebounds.

With 3:03 minutes left on the clock, Christian threw an alley-oop to teammate Michael Dunkins (Candor, NC), leading Dunkins to a slam dunk that gave the Knights a 20 point lead over the Sabers. Barber-Scotia fought until the end, lessening the Knights’ lead to 12, but SAU played smart and finished the game on top.

Look for the Knights at Harris Court again on Saturday, December 3, at 7:00 PM. SAU will host the Broncos of Fayetteville State University. The St. Andrews Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to donate to Toys-For-Tots during the game as well, so be sure to bring a toy to help make a child’s Christmas extra special.
