Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews University men’s basketball program proudly unveils its 28 game schedule for the ’11-’12 season; which consists of 13 home games to be played at Harris Court on the St. Andrews campus.
Starting off their season, head coach Richie Schueler and assistant coaches Andrew Brown and Drew Zimbro will take the Knights to Wilmington on October 29, 2011 to play the Seahawks of UNC-W in their first of two exhibition games. The following Saturday, the Knights will take on the Winthrop University Eagles in Rock Hill, SC, for their second and final exhibition game.
Beginning regular season play, the SAU Knights will visit UNC-Pembroke for a match up against the Braves at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 11. While at the UNC-Pembroke Classic, SAU will also face the Patriots of Francis Marion University.
Wednesday, November 16 marks the Knights first appearance at Harris Court; where fans will see the first men’s basketball tip-off at 7:30 PM. Before their next home game, the squad will play in the NC Wesleyan Classic and the Francis Marion Classic.
The men will spend the first half of their season preparing for conference play as St. Andrews will not see its first Conference Carolinas game of the season until January. On January 3, 2012, SAU is scheduled to host the Falcons of Pfeiffer University at 7:30 PM at Harris Court. Throughout January and February, the Knights will travel across the Carolinas and even venture to Tennessee to challenge the teams of Conference Carolinas.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the Knights’ last home game of the season. Tuesday, February 21 will be the team’s final appearance at Harris Court for the ’11-’12 season. The 7:30 PM game will also be used to celebrate “Senior Night”, where the team will show their appreciation for the members of the squad who will be completing their collegiate play.
