Greenwood, S.C. - The Knights (8-35) took to the field Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader against the host team Lander University (28-19). Lander took complete control of their home field advantage as they won both games on the day.

Game One: The Knights struck first in the top of the 1st inning as Sebastian Ray (Plant City, FL) singled bringing in Michael Cantwell (Burlington, NJ) for the game's first run giving the Knights an early lead 1-0. Lander answered back by piling up five runs in the next three innings bringing the score a 5-1 Lander lead going into the top of the 5th. St. Andrews started swinging the bat as R.J. Blasi (Swansboro, NC), Dalton Steed (Indian Trail, NC), and Jason Murray (Syracuse, NY) all had hits with Steed picking up the RBI in the inning. The Knights then went on to hold Lander scoreless in the bottom of the 5th only to step back up in the 6th and continue their hitting ways. Sebastian Ray (Plant City, FL) dug in with the bases loaded and hit a single to left field bringing in two more runs for the Knights putting them down only 5-4. However, St. Andrews would fail to add anymore runs as Lander scored three runs in the 7th and 8th innings putting the game out of reach and giving the Knights a loss, score being 11-4. Standing out for the Knights were Jason Murray who went 2-5, and Sebastian Ray who went 3-5.

Game Two: Lander came out as if the did not miss a beat in the second game of the day as they scored a run in each of the first two innings taking an early 2-0 lead going into the top of the third. Joe McCarty (Martinez, GA) started things off as he singled to left field giving the Knights a base runner. Michael Cantwell (Burlington, NJ) then stood in and proceeded to hit it well over the fence for a homerun, tying the game up at 2-2. The next three innings showed Lander taking absolute control as they added five runs while holding St. Andrews to zero extending their lead now to 7-2. The top of the 6th proved to be St. Andrews last offensive push as Dalton Steed’s (Indian Trial, NC) single brought in R.J. Blasi (Swansboro, NC) for the score, but that was all that Lander would allow. In the bottom of the 6th inning Lander piled up nine more runs on seven hits and two errors putting the game out of reach for the Knights with an eventual final score of 16-3. Standing out for the Knights was Dalton Steed (Indian Trail, NC) who went 2-3 with an RBI, and Michael Cantwell (Burlington, NJ) who had a two RBI homerun on the day.
