THOMASVILLE, N.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College's T.J. Chrusch (8-12 overall, 2-7 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas baseball Pitcher of the Week during week number four in the 2008 season.
Senior right-handed pitcher T.J. Chrusch led the St. Andrews baseball team to a Conference Carolinas series victory over Coker College by tossing a no-hitter in Saturday's middle game of the series. Chrusch threw a dominating performance against the Cobras as St. Andrews won 4-0. Chrusch hurled 84-pitches in the seven-inning, complete-game, no-hitter. Chrusch and the Knights were only one walk and two errors away from a perfect game.
Chrusch's no-no was his first collegiate no-hitter in only his seventh career start after serving as St. Andrews primary closer in his first three seasons. The Fleetwood, Pa., native sports a 3.99 ERA with 25 strikeouts in five starts this season.
Chrusch and the St. Andrews baseball team next visits league foe Limestone College (Gaffney, S.C.) for a three-game Conference Carolinas series this weekend. Saturday’s doubleheader starts at 12 Noon while Sunday’s finale is slated for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
