THOMASVILLE, NC—T.J. Chrusch of St. Andrews Presbyterian College (3-3 overall, 0-0 CVAC) has been selected as the CVAC baseball “Pitcher of the Week” on Tuesday.
Sophomore relief pitcher T.J. Chrusch (Fleetwood, PA) closed the door on two of St. Andrews wins to start the 2006 season including a big win against a nationally ranked opponent. After the Knights took a late 2-1 lead on the road against then No. 11 nationally ranked Francis Marion, Chrusch secured the upset win with a 15-pitch, two strikeout, no-hit ninth for his second save of the season. The day before, Chrusch helped SAPC hold onto a 10-9 victory at Wingate with his first save. Chrusch tossed an impressive eighth and ninth, recording every out by fanning six Bulldog batters. On the season, Chrusch has only allowed one hit, one walk and one run over five innings while striking out a staggering 11 (2.2 SO/IP).
