(03/30/08)—Sophomore Vince Giunta (Sewell, N.J.) was a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs batted in to lead the St. Andrews baseball team to a 7-4 upset victory over host Belmont Abbey College on Sunday afternoon at Abbey Yard. The Crusaders (26-14 Overall; 13-5 Conf.), who are ranked tied for sixth in the current NCBWA South Atlantic Regional Poll, swept Saturday’s doubleheader over the Knights (13-26; 6-15) by scores of 4-3 and 5-1. Horne (Hamlet, N.C.) each had four hits on Wednesday afternoon including one home run apiece as St. Andrews Presbyterian College split a non-conference doubleheader with Chowan University. LAURINBURG, N.C. (03/21/08)—St. Andrews Presbyterian College had the game-winning run on third base with no-outs in the first inning of Saturday’s second game but Pfeiffer University was able to keep the run from scoring winning the finale 8-4 in nine innings (scheduled seven innings). The Falcons (17-17 Overall; 6-8 Conf.) held off the Knights (10-21; 4-13), 10-8, in the first game to sweeps the Conference Carolinas doubleheader at Clark Field. Read More

Rain ends St. Andrews baseball game at North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. (03/19/08)—Rain washed out Wednesday's baseball games in the fourth inning of the first game. St. Andrews Presbyterian College was leading 7-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the game will not count because five innings of play are required to be considered an official game. The games most likely will not be re-scheduled.
