Jody Murphy begins her second year as the head athletic trainer for the St. Andrews Presbyterian College athletics department after being promoted in teh Fall of 2007. Murphy has also spent a couple couple years as an assistant athletic trainer for the Knights, joining the SAPC staff first in 2003.
Murphy helps oversee the coverage of all 21 NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic teams at St. Andrews. Murphy’s duties include coordination and supervision of all phases of health care for all 200-plus Knights student-athletes.
Prior to coming to SAPC, Murphy worked four years at Spectrum Rehabilitation of Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she served as a certified athletic trainer working closely with the Mother of Mercy High School athletics department. Murphy has extensive experience in the athletic training arena with over 10 years of experience on her resume including clinics, labs, professional teams, medical institutes, and camps.
Murphy graduated from the University of Akron (Akron, Ohio) with a B.S. Ed. in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. Murphy added a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix in 2006.
Murphy is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is licensed in the states of Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Murphy, who is certified in CPR through the American Heart Association, is also a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Murphy, a native of Akron, Ohio, currently resides in Laurinburg, N.C.
