Emily Beeson
Emily Beeson is starting her second year with Knights Athletic Training, after being hired in August of 2010. Beeson is the main athletic trainer for wrestling, women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s golf. Beeson earned an MA in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Administration from the University of North Carolina Pembroke (Pembroke, NC) in 2010. While at UNCP, Beeson worked as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Training department; gaining experience by working with women’s volleyball and women’s tennis at the Peach Belt Conference, NCAA D-II institution. The Randleman, NC, native received a BS in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University (Cullowhee, NC) in 2008. Beeson’s hard work at Western Carolina landed her an internship at Conference Carolinas member institution Belmont Abbey College (Belmont, NC) in the spring of 2008. The degree she earned at Western Carolina and the experience she gained at Belmont Abbey greatly prepared her for graduate level work and gave her a good knowledge of athletic training at an NCAA D-II institution. After completing her MA in Physical Education, Beeson made the 30 minute journey from Pembroke to Laurinburg to take a position as an Athletic Trainer for the Knights. This move placed Beeson back at a Conference Carolinas institution; only this time she would be using the experience she gained during her last stint in the conference to help her with a full time position. Beeson currently resides in Laurinburg, N.C.

Evan Cherone is entering her first year as an Athletic Trainer at St. Andrews, after joining the staff in the summer of 2011. She is the main athletic trainer for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and softball. Cherone has been a BOC certified Athletic Trainer and a NATA member since 2007. Before coming to St. Andrews, Cherone spent two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lambuth University (Jackson, TN). During her time at Lambuth, she was in charge of men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and softball; giving her a lot of experience that she will be able to use with the Knights. In addition to regular season work with the teams, Cherone was also given the opportunity to work several post season events when the men’s soccer team traveled to the conference tournament in 2009 and 2010 and when the women’s basketball team earned a spot in the NAIA National Tournament in 2010. The North Prairie, WI, native chose to pursue an MSE in Sports Studies at the University of Kansas (Lawrence, KS); completing her degree in 2009. While at the University of Kansas, Cherone was a graduate assistant in the athletic training department. In fact, she was able to travel to the 2008 Orange Bowl with the football team as part of her assistantship as well, showing her what it was like to work a major NCAA football event. Cherone also saw another level of athletic training while at Kansas, the high school level. She covered numerous sporting events as an Outreach Athletic Trainer for several high schools in Kansas while doing her graduate work. n addition to her MSE in Sports Studies, Cherone holds a BS in Athletic Training with a minor in Strength and Conditioning which she earned from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (Oshkosh, WI) in 2007. While at UW Oshkosh, the die hard Packer and Badger fan spent some of her free time playing on a club rugby team. Cherone currently resides in Laurinburg, N.C.
