"After graduating from St. Andrews I attended graduate school at the University of Iowa and received my MBA in 1995. I then began working for the Ford Motor Company in the Detroit, MI area and have been there ever since. I utilize my St. Andrews education every day! Relationship Building: This is the key component to my current position as Diversity & Worklife Manager for the Americas. I cannot Imagine being able to interact with so many different people here without having that experience in college. An Enterprise View: It is essential for me to have a understanding of our entire automotive business in order to create a diversity strategy that meets the needs of our employees. St. Andrews gave me the skills to view an issue from many different perspectives in order to come up with solutions that are effective and robust. A Sense of Community: I entered St. Andrews as a person who was only knowledgable about the little world around me. I left knowing that I was a member of a community and that it's important for me to always look for ways to give back." (2006) |
