Commencement Weekend 2014 is fast approaching: The following information should answer many of your questions concerning this important event. If you have further questions, please call the Office of Academic Affairs (LA 118) at 910-277-5240 or the Office of the Registrar (LA 133) at 910-277-5221.
THURSDAY, MAY 1st
3:00 PM Graduation Rehearsal – Avinger Auditorium
6:00 PM Senior Reception & Dinner (graduates only) – Belk Main Lounge
FRIDAY, MAY 2nd
3:45 p.m. Seniors line up for Baccalaureate Processional in designated hallway – Physical Education Center
GOWNS ONLY, NO CAPS
4:00 p.m. Baccalaureate Service – Physical Education Center
SATURDAY, MAY 3rd
8:15 a.m. Seniors line up for Processional with CAPS & GOWNS between Wilmington & Granville Residence Halls
9:00 a.m. Commencement - DeTamble Library Terrace
(Physical Education Center in case of rain)
Please be aware of the following:
Students must resolve all financial obligations (tuition, fees, library and parking fines, PE equipment charges, etc.) through the Student Accounts office by 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 30th.
Caps and gowns may be picked up in the Student Accounts office (LA 138) from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on April 30th, and 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM on May 1st and 2nd. All financial obligations must be cleared before seniors receive their caps, gowns, and diplomas.
All students completing course work in the spring of 2014 are expected to participate in both the Baccalaureate and Commencement unless excused by Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edna Ann Loftus (910-277-5256, email@example.com). Those students who finished course work in the summer or fall of 2013 should advise the Registrar’s Office (910-277-5221 or firstname.lastname@example.org) of their participation (yes OR no) in these ceremonies.
Disability Services coordinates Commencement accommodations for graduating seniors and their guests. Available accommodations include an ASL interpreter, large print programs and loaner wheelchairs for those who have difficulty walking long distances. Families in need of accommodations for Commencement guests should contact Lori Weaver in the Office of Academic Affairs at 910-277-5240 or email@example.com by April 21st to assure the best possible arrangements. Seniors with disabilities should also contact the Office of Academic Affairs to discuss accommodation needs and wheelchair seating.

Classical Photography will be photographing diploma presentations, and posed portraits following the ceremony. Here is information about viewing and ordering:
- You can view the photographs at this web site: www.collages.net
- You will need to enter the event name: sapc2014 and the password: 9575
- You will be able to make a favorites folder to easily sort your choices.
- You can link the photos to Facebook.
- The photos will be available on line for 30 days from the date of posting, which will be as soon as possible after graduation day.
- You will be able to order prints and digital images, paying securely on line, and they will be shipped directly to you.
