The public relations (PR) concentration provides training in one of the fastest growing professions in the U.S. (Department of Labor Statistics, 2012). Professionals employ a wide range of communication tools to reach target publics. PR practitioners work closely with upper management in developing policies and communication practices.
Public relations majors learn how to conduct research, plan campaigns, develop management skills, study communication strategies and tactics, produce communication materials, and evaluate public relation situations.
We prepare students with critical thinking skills specializing in both oral and written skills sets. On completion of the program students will be prepared for prospective careers in business, industry, education, agency, government, and nonprofit sectors of society.
The communications program offers four-year Bachelor of Arts degree programs with a concentration in public relations. Students may also complete a minor in communications.
