Core Spanish- equivalency of 6 credits |
||
| It is understood that in their future careers students may be called upon unexpectedly to speak basic Spanish to accomplish various tasks. The Spanish core curriculum at St. Andrews is designed to provide an introductory level of Spanish to our students so they may speak a very basic level of Spanish in a variety of situations. These situations might relate to responding to a medical emergency, reading or composing a business letter in Spanish, asking for a room in a hotel, bargaining for food, or giving simple directions. Spanish core classes are rotated between in-house faculty and visiting faculty from Cuenca. In addition, it is the goal of the core Spanish class to create authentic in-class experiences with the local Spanish speaking community. | ||
