In a highly contested election year, the members of the Student Government Association at St. Andrews decided to fight possible apathy among their generation.
"(SGA President) Steve (Lambert) is big into the election and we decided to do something to make a difference," said Michael Kryszak, student judicial representative. "We're doing the registration and will do something to get them to vote on election day."
While the five minute voter registration process made it easy for those interested to become a part of the process, there were some students who decided not to take part.
"We had one guy say that he didn't want to bother registering because his vote doesn't count anyway," said Joanna Hipp, Christian student union representative.
Of those who did register, the common theme was a recognition that this hotly contested Presidental Election will determine the direction of the country for many years.
"We'll know how successful our efforts here are when we see how many students vote on election day," said Joshua Pickett, treasurer.
