"As a first generation Latin American, it was different coming here, but I soon realized that I could just be me. St. Andrews is a school for people who like small classes and a close community."

Open Mic at SAU’s Writers’ Forum

Spring 2014 Writers' Forum Host Darian Cahill

Laurinburg, NC - The St. Andrews University Writers’ Forum will hold the first Open Mic of the spring semester this Thursday beginning at 8 p.m. in the Ronald H. Bayes Writers’ Forum Lounge in Orange Residence Hall on the University’s campus.

“This traditional allows for all writers to share with a community of their creative peers,” said Dr. Ted Wojtasik, faculty advisor of the Forum. “We invite poets, musicians, fiction writers and non-fiction writers from the area to come out to share their talent.”

Individuals interested in sharing their work are invited to sign up the night of the reading with student host Darian Cahill. Readings are limited to between five and seven minutes to allow for all readers an opportunity to share.

For more information about the Writers' Forum, creative writing or the St. Andrews Press, call 910-277-5310, or email press@sapc.edu.
