Freeman named director of MBA Program

Laurinburg, N.C. - St. Andrews University, a branch of Webber International University, is pleased to announce Dr. Wayne Freeman has been appointed Director of the Master’s in Business Administration Program for the Laurinburg campus.

“Wayne has been a big part of the MBA program since we brought it to the Laurinburg campus,” said Robert Hopkins, vice president for academic affairs. “We are honored that he has agreed to take on this leadership position to take the program to the next level.”

A Laurinburg native and a member of the Department of Business and Economics faculty, Freeman came to St. Andrews to teach MBA Program courses. During his tenure, he has been in the taught classes in human behavior, research methods, and innovation.

“I am excited to join the St. Andrews team and look forward to building the MBA Program into the program that I know it can be,” said Freeman. “Since I started teaching at St. Andrews, I have discovered a passion for being in the college classroom. I really enjoy getting to know the students as I help them grow intellectually and advance their careers.”

In this new position, Freeman will be responsible for recruiting new students and advising existing students work through scheduling and curriculum processes. He will work closely with Professor Corinne Nicholson, chair of the Business Department, Hopkins, and the MBA Program faculty and students to ensure that the program continues to grow and that student learning outcomes are met.

“I have developed and managed professional executive education programs for over 20 years and I look forward to bringing this experience to the St. Andrews’ campus,” Freeman said. “With the guidance of Dean Hopkins and Professor Nicholson, I feel confident about the future of the MBA Program at St. Andrews University.”

The St. Andrews MBA Program is an evening program designed for working adults. If you are interested, plan on attending the MBA Informational Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 from 6-7 pm in Room 102 of the Liberal Arts Building on the St. Andrews campus.
