In their own words...
"Living on campus is a life experience I have learned so much from. We eat together, watch TV together, study together, and do absolutely nothing together. When I go home for breaks, it's like I'm leaving my second family!"

SAU riders advance to Hunter Seat Zone Finals

Laurinburg, N.C. - St. Andrews University will send six individual riders and a University team to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Hunter Seat Zone Finals after a successful Regional Finals at the Equestrian Center on Friday.

“The Regional Finals is similar to a playoff game in a ball sport with the purpose of recognizing qualified riders and t determine who moves onto the Zones, which is the final stepping stone before the National Championships,” explained Equestrian Instructor Jackie Dwelle.

Team qualification is determined from the cumulative points at the regular season shows with St. Andrews the winner of that distinction for 2013. Regular season points also determine the regional winner for the Cacchione Cup, with Kim Graves earning the distinction with teammate Katie Hansen a close second.

Individual riders qualifying for the Zone Finals are Hansen, Graves, Sami Cram, Alexandra Fullerton, Shiloh Kozlowski and Cami Glaff.

St. Andrews riders who participated in Regional Finals but not advancing to the Zone Finals are Catherine McDowell, Park Hoey, Kali Cram and Tori Burkey.

The Zone Finals will be held April 6 at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center.
