SAU Dressage team wins home show

Laurinburg, N.C. – The St. Andrews University Dressage Team finished first at the Intercollegiate Dressage Show Association (IDA) competition held over the weekend at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center.

The St. Andrews A Team finished just ahead of the Averett University A and B teams. Elon finished fourth with North Carolina State University fifth and the St. Andrews B Team sixth.

The victory allowed St. Andrews to move within one point of first place Averett University in the regional standings.

“This semester has been a true example of team work for the dressage team,” said Coach Jackie Dwelle. “I was really pleased with the way the team has pulled together to support one another in their riding as well as being on top of organizing the show. It just shows you what can be done when good people come together with a common mission in mind.”

Kristen Parker earned first place in Introductory Level Test B with Claire Pollard finishing second. Logan Teeter was fourth in the same division.

Lindsey Agaliotis was second in First Level Test 1 while Megan Pustarfi was second in Introductory Level Test C.
