SAU Hunter Seat team earns perfect score

Laurinburg, N.C. – The St. Andrews University Hunter Seat Team earned a perfect 49 out of 49 score at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Show held at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center on Saturday.

The score earned the team Champion Status ahead of Reserve Champion the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s 36 points. North Carolina State University, East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina Wilmington rounded out the top five.

St. Andrews riders earned individual honors with Alexandra Fullerton earning High Point Rider with teammate Katie Hansen the Reserve High Point Rider.

Earning first place finishes were Hansen in Open Flat B and Open Fences B; Fullerton in Novice Flat F and Novice Fences A; Katie Mentzel in Novice Flat B; Regina Barasch in Intermediate Flat B; Kali Cram in Intermediate Fences A; Nikki Napoleone in Intermediate Fences B; Morgan Potts in Walk Trot A; Abigail Skillman in Novice Fences C; Michelle Eld in Novice Flat E; Cami Glaff in Walk Trot Canter C; and Mia Dipillio.

Second place finishes were added by Kim Graves in Open Flat A and Open Fences B; Alie McGraw in Intermediate Flat A; and Regi Barasch in Open Fences A.

There were third place finishes by Madison Edwards in Walk, Trot, Canter A; Sarah Lishen in Walk Trot Canter B; Park Hoey in Novice Flat C; Dara Corbett in Novice Flat G; and Hillary Todd in Walk Trot Canter E.

Also contributing to the team’s success were Julie Griffin with fourth in Walk, Trot, Canter A; Tara Algeri with fifth in Novice Flat A; Brittany Powell was fourth in Walk, Trot, Canter B; Catherine McDowell with fifth in Novice Flat C; Sarah Williams was fifth in Novice Flat D; Kayla McBath with fourth in Intermediate Flat C; Lacy Burke was fifth Beginning Walk Trot A; Chandalyn Chranowski with fourth in Walk Trot Canter D; Paula Kramer was sixth in Walk Trot Canter E and Bridget Newman in Walk Trot Canter F. The team will host another IHSA show on Feb. 25.
