Filmmaker coming to Writers’ Forum

Laurinburg, N.C. – Filmmaker, casting director, writer, photographer, professor and musician Lois Siegel will be the featured presenter at the St. Andrews Writers’ Forum Thursday evening.

Free and open to the public, the Forum begins at 8 p.m. in Orange Main Lounge.

Currently based in Ottawa, Siegel received the 1998 Arts Award in the category of Outstanding Artistic Achievement from the Gloucester Arts Board in Ontario. Her film, Stunt People, won a 1990 Genie Award for Best Short Documentary from the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

Educated in the United States, Siegel earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with Honors in English and a Masters of Arts in English and Comparative Literature at Ohio University. She also took courses from the Université de Paris and McGill University in Montreal.

Siegel holds a professorship in video production at the University of Ottawa.
