St. Andrews Western Team

"Fall 2006-Spring 2007 for the second year competing IHSA western, the team from SAPC was again highly competitive. We lost only one competition to VI early in the Fall season, and rallied back to win high point team at every other show and on to win Regionals! Ended up tied for fourth and lost the tie breaker at Zones to Barry College, yet have two riders competing at the IHSA Nationals in Massachusetts the first weekend of May! For the second year of competition western for SAPC, as a coach in the first year here, I am very proud mostly of our team spirit and team efforts. Individual placings are most important to win team competition, yet as a coach, it was great to see our team come together helping one another and preparing the horses as a team. Peggy McElveen as our Director, has instilled the right character into these students in competition, most important to be a horseman. We are very proud and only look forward to a bright future. The students who started this in 2005 are the ones who really have worked hard to see this be successful! I am proud to be their coach and appreciate their efforts."
