Why Choose the
Center for Adult and Professional Studies?
Leadership -- St. Andrews has served its community since 1958 with innovative educational programs, nationally recognized competitive equestrian teams and musical ensembles, and majors ranging from business and elementary education to creative writing, forensic science and therapeutic horsemanship. Every year, community members, alumni and visitors from across the country participate in classes, seminars, guest lectures, performing arts events, athletic events and equestrian competitions on campus.
Degree Prestige and Value -- For 50 years, St. Andrews Presbyterian College has provided students with quality education in the liberal arts and sciences. St. Andrews students and graduates are in high demand for prestigious internships, summer work experiences and graduate programs.
Flexible schedules and class venues – Based on their needs and in consultation with faculty advisors, students may enroll in classes at St. Andrews @ Sandhills, through St. Andrews ONLINE, and on the main campus in Laurinburg. The choice of day, evening and weekend classes along with fully web-based and hybrid delivery methods is designed to accommodate busy, non-traditional students. Courses are arranged in the evenings, evening/weekend, online, and combinations of online and in-seat sessions for 8 and 16 week terms.
Knowledge Excellence -- St. Andrews faculty members are leaders in their fields. They are active as scholars, researchers and inspiring teachers. The college’s academic standards and expectations are high, and academic excellence is pursued with determination and vigor. The skills and experiences faculty and fellow students bring into the classroom will help you apply what you learn.
Financial Aid -- Upon qualification, financial aid is available to full-time and part-time adult students. After receiving your completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), St. Andrews financial aid specialists will work with you to develop a customized financial aid plan.
Accreditation -- St. Andrews is preaccredited by the American Academy for Liberal Education (AALE), which accredits outstanding liberal arts institutions and programs. St. Andrews is also accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award baccalaureate degrees. In addition, the college is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Fast Degree Completion -- Because of the opportunity to pursue courses in multiple delivery formats and in multiple venues, students have the ability to design a fast track completion of their degree. Depending on the number of transferable hours you have already earned, you can complete your degree in as few as 24 months, or as long as you like. When the admissions staff receives your application and transcripts, they will work with you to develop a schedule for completing your degree as quickly and efficiently as possible.
