Welcome to St. Andrews!

On behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs and the faculty I am delighted to welcome you to the academic community of St. Andrews Presbyterian College. We are busy preparing for the Fall semester and look forward to your arrival on campus in August.

New student Orientation begins August 23. It is important that transfer students participate in all Orientation activities so that you will be ready to begin your St. Andrews experience.

An academic advisor will be identified for you from among our dedicated faculty. Usually this faculty advisor will be from the department of your intended major. If you remain undecided about a major direction, your advisor will be chosen from among the faculty who are familiar with the breadth of our curriculum. Your advisor will work with you during Orientation to plan your Fall schedule and prepare for a successful academic year.

As a transfer student, you may have already fulfilled some of the St. Andrews graduation requirements. Once St. Andrews has received final transcripts from your former college or university, our Registrar will evaluate your transfer credits. The transcript evaluation which you will then receive from the Registrar will tell you what general education requirements remain to be completed. A normal course load for full time students is 12 to 18 credits each semester. This usually means 4 to 7 courses. Your advisor will help you plan a course schedule which will allow you to complete courses required for graduation, work in your major, and explore the range of intellectual challenges available in a college of the liberal arts and sciences.
