International Business

Jamin Ferris

Class of 2009

Durham, NC

Academic Major

My major is International Business. This major incorporates a variety of cultures into the business degree. We take the core business classes as well as classes that provide knowledge of different cultures such as Asian Studies, Spanish, and many more. Eventually, I would like to pursue graduate school. St. Andrews provides a great atmosphere in the classroom. The teachers actually care about the students and individuals are able to get to know most professors personally.

St. Andrews Faculty

Well, I have two faculty members that have really influenced my experience at St. Andrews. The first is Business Professor, Dr. Doug Glass. His classes are always fun and interesting; he breaks up the Power Point material by adding interactive games and situations that are applicable to the subject and make it easy to understand. Dr. Glass also helps with FCA and has actually started other student organizations at our school. The other faculty member is Professor Loren Cornish. He teaches accounting classes and the material is really difficult but he really cares about each student and wants them to learn. He really makes the hardest classes less difficult by making sure every student understands the material we cover.

Meaningful Experience

Going to the finals of the conference tournament last year for soccer was a great experience. We played really well the whole weekend and had a great time.

Why St. Andrews?

The people at St. Andrews really care about the students; it’s not like a big school where you are just another number. The athletics are great! On the soccer team, we are like brothers and we always have a great time. You really get to know a lot of the students on campus and the atmosphere on campus is always fun and uplifting.
