St. Andrews Scholarship Opportunities
St. Andrews provides a variety of scholarships in recognition of the many skills and talents of our students. These scholarship awards are made possible by the generosity of many generations of St. Andrews alumni and friends. St. Andrews’ policy is to include all scholarships received in a student's financial aid package as resources to help meet financial need. Scholarship winners may also qualify for need-based financial aid awards. U. S. News & World Report has consistently recognized St. Andrews as one of the “nation’s best liberal arts schools". The St. Andrews Scholarship Program is a critical component of this recognition. While some colleges award a one-year scholarship, St. Andrews awards are renewable and the amount is fixed for four years. This helps families forecast expenses and make financial plans. ACADEMIC AWARDS: St. Andrews’ most competitive awards for academic excellence and personal accomplishment are given to entering first-year students and are renewable up to four years, provided the student maintain s academic eligibility. As recognition for outstanding academic ability and talent, St. Andrews sponsors highly competitive scholarship programs called Achievement Awards. Your admission application is automatically used for scholarship consideration; there is no additional application. The St. Andrews Admissions Office selects scholarship finalists after reviewing each applicant's high school record, SAT/ACT results, recommendations, level of involvement in out-of-class activities and other individual factors. Students who receive these scholarships are chosen for their excellent performance and potential for success. Scholarships may range up to $8,500 annually or up to $34,000 throughout four years of study. St. Andrews offers the following scholarships for academic achievement: VARDELL AWARD: St. Andrews most prestigious academic award. Generally for students with an SAT above 1300 or ACT above 29 and whose GPA is above 3.7. To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must be accepted for admission to the College by the priority admissions application deadline of March 1, as Achievement Awards funds may be limited after that date. These competitive scholarship awards are renewable each year as long as the recipient maintains the required academic eligibility.
